Biography
Iro Gallou began her professional career in the late 1990’s as an Assistant Director in Film and TV, having collaborated since with some of Greece’s most prominent creators, including Vasilis Thomopoulos, Alexandros Rigas, Antonis Angelopoulos, Errikos Anagnostopoulos, Grigoris Karantinakis, and Pierros Andrakakos, among others.
Early in her career, she distinguished herself through a strong aesthetic sensibility and a remarkable ability to identify and elevate the right talent for each role. She soon transitioned into casting direction, at a time when casting in Greece had not yet been established as a distinct professional discipline. She is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of modern casting in the Greek market, having played a key role in shaping and advancing the field.
Since 2015, she has been working exclusively as a Casting Director, operating through her personal office as well as through Talenthood, a background actors agency founded in 2022.
She has collaborated with leading production companies and broadcasters, including Netflix, MEGA TV, Foss Productions, View Master Films, Argonauts Productions, Primavisione, COSMOTE TV, STAR Channel, ANT1 TV, ALPHA TV, and ERT. Her extensive and multifaceted experience across different stages and roles within production has shaped a highly refined professional instinct, a strong artistic vision, and a consistent level of precision and reliability in execution.
